The House
An artisan bakery and pastry shop in the heart of Yaoundé, born of a simple idea: serve nothing you would not serve at home.
A name is chosen for what it commits you to, not for what it decorates. This one speaks of a house built with care, one that takes the time it needs and leaves nothing to chance. It is a standard we hold ourselves to before promising it to anyone.
Everything is made on site. Doughs are worked in the morning and the ovens run through the day rather than once and for all: an eleven o'clock baguette is not a six o'clock baguette reheated. Pastries come out in small batches, and order cakes are discussed one at a time.
A neighbourhood house run like a grand one. The daily bread and a wedding cake leave the same kitchen, made by the same hands, from the same flour. It is the only way we know to hold both.
Ingredients chosen one by one, and suppliers we know by name. No industrial mix doing the work for us.
The ovens run all day. What is not sold on the day never returns to the shelf the next morning.
